The event was a great success, with beautiful weather and a great range of cars, including some that took part in the original event.</div></div><br />

The event maintained a very relaxed atmosphere and it was great to see Paul Dickinson with his fantastic Volkswagen Type 3 Notchback. There were also escorted runs up the original track. Yes please. This was my first visit to 'The home of British Motor Racing' since the new track layout and pit complex was finished earlier in the year. I can safely say the owners have succeeded in dragging the old Silverstone into the 21st Century providing the UK with a truly world class venue to host the likes of Formula One and any other international event.<br />
<br />
An under whelming number of spectators did make feel a little soul-less on the Sunday but the number of crashes on track made up for it.<br />
<br />
The GT3, GT4 and Lamborghini Trofeo races all supported the GT1 main event.<br />

Utilising a stroked version of the excellent Daytona's 675cc, 124bhp, 53lb/ft triple, the new 800cc motor is expected to produce a little less power and approximately 10-15% more torque.<br />

The British brand seem to be going from strength to strength with the release of their new middle-weight adventure machine and have clearly enjoyed teasing the media and biking community with various 'sneak previews' of the Tiger 800.<br />

Available in two versions, one road based with a 19 inch front wheel and one adventure version called the Tiger XC with a 21 inch hoop and knobbly rubber (shown above), Triumph are clearly aiming for a share in the market currently held by BMW's F800GS.<br />

Using an open style steel tube frame, the Tiger 800 also attempts to bridge the gap between BMW's 1200GS machine and the smaller capacity GS models. Be very worried BMW..<br />

Although Italian, build quilty and reliability is rumoured to be of a very high standard. An 'Italian BMW' has been said before!<br />

The new V4 engined bike is said to be lighter, more powerful and with better handling and with price approaching £10,000 you should dam well hope so. This rendering image show lines more reminiscent of a muscle bike than the original, Aprilia clearly relying on the magnificent reception of the RSV4's motor to attract buyers, although some design features may be passed over. Me, I still want the original- I must be getting old!<br />
